Macfab adds new 5-axis capability for prototype work
NEWS RELEASE: September 29, 2016: Macfab Manufacturing, an international supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies, has today announced a major new investment for its prototype machining department.
The company has installed a HAAS DM-1 high-speed machining center equipped with 5-axis capability and dedicated to small quantity, prototype work. The new machine will increase Macfab’s prototyping efficiency and throughput. Simplified fixturing – combined with on-board tool setting, 15,000 RPM spindle speeds and rapid cutting and tool-change times – will enable Macfab to reliably deliver small quantities of complex components with significantly reduced lead times.
“Macfab is well known for supporting our customers’ need for shorter lead times for their complex prototype components,” says Macfab president Chris Macmorine. “This latest investment is a further commitment to this important service and gives our people greater flexibility and confidence in meeting our customers’ expectations.”
