CNC Lathe Programmer-Setter Machinist

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the CNC Lathe Programmer-Setter machinist will be required to perform tasks involving operating, loading and unloading of CNC lathes and perform in-process quality checks to ensure conformance to drawing specifications and other similar duties.

Core Competencies

  • Programming and setting CNC lathe
  • Programming using live tooling
  • Proficiency with MasterCam & Solidworks
  • Proficiency with G&M code programming
  • Ability to design and manufacture fixturing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerances
  • Experience working with tight tolerances
  • Programming using Haas or Fanuk controls
  • Able to use measuring devices
  • Attention to detail and quality requirements
  • Able to use measuring devices
  • Interpersonal communication, follow verbal and written instructions
  • Organization Skills

Job Duties

  • Programming and setting CNC Lathe machines
  • Visual and measure quality checks
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment by maintaining housekeeping standards and safe working practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years lathe programming and setting experience
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Machinist certification an asset
  • The ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Strong communication skills, reading text and numeracy
