NewSpace Europe is hosted annually by the Luxembourg Space Agency in Luxembourg City. This year’s conference theme, Breaking Barriers, addresses the challenges that need to be overcome in order for the fast-growing space-based economy to fulfill its potential. Macfab attending ESA’s Phi-Week 2018

This year's conference theme, "Delivering Mission Success," addresses the key issues that will further accelerate the smallsat industry's growth, including new technologies, design methods, processes, and operational constructs.

NEWS RELEASE: June 7, 2018: Macfab Manufacturing, an international supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies, will attend Eurosatory 2018, held at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre on June 11-15.

Eurosatory is the leading international land and air-land defence and security exhibition. Eurosatory 2018 is expected to attract more than 1,500 exhibitors and 57,000 industry professionals from 68 countries. The event features over 160,000 square metres of exhibits and live demonstrations. Over 70 conferences have been organized, featuring high-level panels of speakers including operational staff, manufacturers, media, experts, think tanks and senior government officials.

“This is our second visit to Eurosatory,” says Macfab president Chris Macmorine. “We have longstanding relationships in the defence and security sector, so we’re very excited by the opportunity to meet new colleagues and explore key industry needs and challenges.”

Now held every two years, Eurosatory was initiated in 1967 by the French “Section Technique de l’Armée de Terre” (STAT). In 1992 its name was changed from Satory to Eurosatory to reflect its broader international dimensions.

NEWS RELEASE: May 8, 2018: Macfab Manufacturing, an international supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies, will be exhibiting at the 4S Symposium, May 28 – June 1, in Sorrento, Italy.

The 4S (Small Satellites, Systems and Services) Symposium is jointly organized with the ESA (European Space Agency) and CNES (French Space Agency). This year’s event is being held in cooperation with two other major small sat conferences: the Small Satellites Conference (AIAA/USU) and the Symposium on Small Satellites for Earth Observation (IAA/DLR).

This year’s theme, Beyond Boundaries, addresses the role of small satellites in expanding the boundaries of scientific knowledge, and the potential for small sats to be a key element of the next era of exploration.

Macfab achieves increased throughput, shorter lead times with new five-axis equipment

NEWS RELEASE: November 30, 2017: Macfab Manufacturing, an international supplier of precision components and sub-assemblies, has today announced the successful installation of a new 5-axis CNC machine. This latest addition results in a new total of 36 CNC machine tools, a 24% increase in the past year.

Macfab’s latest acquisition, a HAAS VF-4SS super-speed vertical machining center, is shown being installed. “This equipment’s speed and versatility helps us absorb a lot of production demand,” says Gary Cowan, Operations Manager, “With its dual pallet feature, we can increase the throughput of complex, intricate parts.”

“Our customers depend on us to constantly improve on lead times regardless of their project's complexity,” says Macfab president Chris Macmorine. "We invested in this newest 5-axis machine because its advanced features are designed for exactly that purpose – faster results and exceptional reliability."

Macfab hosted a 30th anniversary luncheon on September 20th, highlighted by the premiere screening of the new video

The video project was originally intended to commemorate Macfab’s 30th anniversary, but it soon turned into a bigger story, one that reflects the industry’s growth as well as Macfab’s. Says Macfab president Chris Macmorine, “We saw that our story reflected developments that have affected many of our customers’ businesses, not just our own. It made sense to us to go into more detail on these key areas, with a short series of videos instead of just one.”

New videos, which will be released over the coming months, will focus on major developments in prototyping, contract manufacturing, quality management, and complementary services such as finishing and cleanroom assembly.
